Snowy Hearts runs Choose Your Own Adventure type stories too! The internet form of which where a Quest Master makes options up on the fly is also known as a Quest! Unlike a typical choose your own adventure, you usually only get one run through and paths not taken are never written...
ANYONE CAN READ THESE QUESTS, BUT POLL VOTING IS A FREE AND PAID SUBSCRIBER PRIVILEGE!
VOTES ARE OPEN FOR 24 HOURS AFTER EACH POST SO SUBSCRIBE FREE IF YOU WANT TO VOTE!
YOU CAN VOTE BY TAPPING OR CLICKING ON POLL OPTIONS, BEWARE THAT IT'S HAIR TRIGGER AND THERE'S NO WAY TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE CURRENTLY.
The Daily quests will alternate between the currently running Questing Hearts and World on a Dish.
Questing Hearts in particular will usually summarize the events of a character’s day or week! Polls will be divided into a GENERAL STANCE and SPECIFIC ACTIONS.
Paid subscribers can vote on a poll of events to spice up the Quest, gain deeper insight into a character or kick off a whole plotline.
Nobles of Coin have their usual abilities.
You will be warned when a poll contains either a wounding: VORPAL, killing: FATAL or an option leading to deterioration: DOOM.
Some options will lead to CRUCIAL MOMENTS, which under most difficulty options give a moment to react, usually splitting the weekly or daily nature of in quest time.
Sometimes actions will lead to a BAD END, picking a BAD END will not end a quest, but as the bad end takes up an update, progress will be delayed.
A DEAD END results from picking a FATAL option, which will end the quest, unless you or other characters have planned around death. The frequency of FATAL options depends on situations you get your character into, so pick wisely and try to stay on top of things, usually you have to have picked DOOM options a few times, or racked up several VORPAL options for FATAL options to appear.
Victory and quest's end is when you reach the natural end of the Quest or achieve a GOOD END!
Before starting a Quest, you'll also pick a difficulty level.
DREAM
What could go wrong in a gentle dream? The Quest Master will hold your hand and give you head pats, light will be the trials.
CRUCIAL MOMENTS will be telegraphed far in advance, and have clear choices to deal with it, pausing the action, and if you mess up badly enough, a second moment for recovery will ensue.
RESTFUL
There's no need to worry too much if things go wrong, the Quest Master's hand will be offered in mercy if you fall in the pit, you need only grasp it. CRUCIAL MOMENTS will pause the action, in particularly bad results, a second moment will trigger.
AWAKE
Neither mercy nor cruelty, no guidance or foul tricks. The Quest Master will make few allowances, but even stumbling can be recovered from. CRUCIAL MOMENTS will not be telegraphed, but will pause the action for choices.
HARROWING
Work for your happily ever after, every misstep has its cost! There is no mercy to be found from the Quest Master only the cruel hand of trials. CRUCIAL MOMENTS will not pause the action, instead you can only prepare in advance for the unknown.
NIGHTMARE
What can go wrong, will. The Quest Master has it out for you, don't believe his lies! An unfair challenge. Even victory may be a bittersweet death. CRUCIAL MOMENTS will come like an assassin, can you even prepare other than washing your neck? The Quest is likely to end prematurely.
TIED VOTES WILL BE RESOLVED AT THE AUTHOR'S DISCRETION.
If you have any questions about a quest or quests, put them in the comments.
WORLD ON A DISH
This Quest is more focused on sculpture than text, in this, you take on the role of an often slumbering mage with a mysterious experiment. This teller will take the role of your ever loyal servant, Igor to your Frankenstein.
Each time you wake, you will make two choices relating to the World on a Dish.
Each choice you make provokes a response, not always an opposite one, but often unfavourable to your choice, this can be abused.
Paid subscribers can vote for one of five wild card options.
Nobles of Coin have their usual powers.
The current run will end if there are no more living creatures on the dish, or at the end of each month
Conditions for sucess? Is there such a thing for an experimenting mage? play and find out.
A refresher on how different levels of readers can interact with the Quests in Snowy Hearts.

PAID SUBSCRIBERS

Some of the options will be flavour(especially in Questing Hearts, but some will have larger impact(Especially in World on a Dish)! Revel in your superiority over the non-paying masses! (politely, they are indeed still part of the community).
NOBLES OF COIN
In the comments of a Quest that hasn't had its polls expire, the noble can draw upon one of four powers, declaring a Reversal, Trick, Curse or Blessing.
A REVERSAL will have outcomes be the opposite of what they would have been, but not to the point of death.
A TRICK will cause an unexpected or absurd twist to happen. On the basis of a hidden coinflip, it will have minimal impact.
A CURSE will cause things to go poorly for the main character.
A BLESSING will cause things to go well, but not to the point of absolute victory.
What effect happens is based on the majority commented by Nobles
REMEMBER, this exclusive privilege can only be activated by posting a comment with the relevant powerword in an ACTIVE Quest update!
You might think that this teller will warn you to use the power responsibly, but go forth and cause chaos, favoured nobles! All you need be careful of are other nobles, lest you tie votes on your powers, rendering power back to this teller. Feel free to form political parties when there's enough of you.
Revel, O nobles, in your superiority.
Here's your reminder that Nobles of Coin receive a noble Title that will be listed in the Peerage of Hearts, which will be posted as soon as there is a noble.
With that, that, is that!
