>Hold Council of Three
For some reason, the crows were loud today, how SUSPICIOUS!
Gods were known, apart from their fondness of mortals, to have a particular fondness for councils.
There were pantheons of course, councils of gods, but those were basically just elaborate parties. A real council was held with one's followers. Gurata, without much effort had scraped together three.
"Zibell isn't your follower, you are Zibell's master, but that isn't the same thing as being your follower"
A small technical matter, being so close to Gurata day in day out, it was only a matter of time...
Did that sound a bit villianous?
No matter, none paid attention to Zibell's objections. Jahodo had a naturally cold avian heart and Fionko just thought Zibell was being shy and tsundere, though thinking of tsundere!
"Zibell, you can't fall in love with him like that! Even if my Lord is a god, you're too small!"
Zibell didn't know how to respond to that and Gurata had learned that some of Fionko's absurdity was best ignored.
Putting aside Zibell's objections and Fionko's derangement, it was time for the first council in a long time!
"As our first topic, the most pressing matter is the lack of living followers! Each of you will present your thoughts on how this can be resolved, Fionko, we begin with you!" So, Gurata proclaimed.
Excitedly Fionko stood before Gurata, Jahodo and Zibell as if she was a popstar facing a live audience.
"World domin..."
"A different idea if you will" Gurata headed that one off.
"Buu, conquest solves everything!"
She wasn't totally wrong, but there was definite issues in the path of successful conquest.
Fionko considered the matter for a few minutes.
"A special offer? The stuff at the convenience store that's on offer always sells lots, except for the meat flavour energy drink that tastes like old socks. That's been on offer ages and it never shifts, I asked the manager about it, but he always bursts into tears when they're brought up"
"Your thoughts, Jahodo and Zibell?"
"If it's meat flavour why old socks?" Jahodo had doubts.
"In the first place, why make a meat flavour of any kind of drink?" Zibell also had doubts.
From his sampling, energy drinks other than the fabled banana milkshake had a tendency to be unpleasant. The banana milkshake energy drink wasn't banana milkshake flavour. It was an energy drink that was simultaneously banana milkshake. There was a difference! The foods of the foreigners were sneaky like that.
"Thank you Fionko, Jahodo you're up next"
"My Lord, what if you make more servants and send them out to proselytize?"
Without prompting, Fionko objected!
"Your identity is already thin Jabbado! If there's more pigheaded birds you'll lose your uniqueness!"
"This servant is willing to make the sacrifice!"
Gurata turned his eyes to Zibell, who was sprawled on top of his phone in a most unladylike depressed manner.
"Even if you make more, mortals seek benefits, what do you even have to offer them in this age master?"
Indeed, in a more violent age, his glory would inspire worship with ease, but now?
Even the enchanted forests were surpressed. Who dared to stir up trouble other than petty criminals...
A thought came to Gurata's SUSPICIOUS mind. So surpressed, would the vile forces of the world not deepen in dastardly plots?
Well, even if that was the case, Gurata was suited to brute force solutions, not crafty counter plotting.
One last follower remained.
"Zibell, speak freely, how do you think more followers should be gained?"
She flipped slowly from her back.
"It's the wrong question isn't it master? The real problem is how your domains fit now, if that isn't sorted... who has a use for a war god these days?"
"Revolutionaries!" Fionko suggested.
"Surely the Pantheon of Stars have force to secure their rule?"
To become a government dog was a last desperate choice. He wasn't leading a revolt, but to serve as inforcer for the invaders was something he would only do at his most desperate.
"The council is at an end"
The use of it was debatable, but whatever about what he already knew, it was the prerogative of gods to give chance for their followers to contribute.
As Fionko terrorized Jahodo and Zibell in mock revolution, Gurata looked to the sky and the crows cawing above.
They really were loud today.
The path is shrouded, the way unclear, what will you do, O declined god of fire and blood?

ACTIONS
Fionko's Advice
A special offer? Just what would that be? Devotion isn't a buy one get one free kind of offer, but there is indeed a few special boons you could present, issue is, they were never to be given lightly, even when you were at the height of your power.
Jahodo's Advice
In truth, you have trouble with anything other than pigeons even before your decline. Perhaps some mostly mindless familiars could be arranged...
Zibell's Advice
A review of your domains might well be in order, perhaps some obscure uses would suit the age you find yourself in...
Contact Corato
There was something about that man, worn out as his soul was, a conversation with that mortal could prove fruitful, and surely the most basic of functions of a phone can be grasped.
Visit Brother Dragon's Shrine
Perhaps it would be better to show your face when you're more restored, but paying your respects is important. He warrants that, especially in light of what you've seen.
