An unusual display for this Saturday, in two ways. Had the one hundredth Morning Menagerie and an unexpected gift of the skies. Let's get to it!
GREEN
Two substacks in and this green promptling grew a heart that grew too much and burst.
YELLOW
Being used as a pot isn't healthy when it's a cooking pot, after one substack that's what happened.
BLACK
One day, a little promptling crossed paths with a licorice witch, it was black in that substack for a different reason then.
BROWN
Across one substack, but down swooped a ufo and the brown promptling was never seen again.
SNOW
For being made of snow, it made good progress across three substacks, and
had a Haiku of the cheeky sneaky habits of a little snowman.MEMORY
They didn't want to keep moving the table, so they settled down in one substack.
A big THANKS to
, andThanks too to everyone else!
The survivor this time is…
The Snow promptling!
Wait, where is it?
Oh.
What is Morning Menagerie?
Each morning, this teller will release a little critter, of varying colours out into the wilds of substack.
A little promptling, if you will. The prompt is the image above itself, it can be a little story, an ode or merely the kind of description you might find in a bestiary. There's a few different categories for this.
Sighting
Is either something like a haiku, a limerick or a wee story between 50-100 words
Encounter
A challenging battle (for the writer) of 800-1500 words.
Recapture
For this, words are optional, simply recreate the prompted critter in whatever medium you desire, crude doodles are acceptable. Even AI generated pictures are acceptable, but do state they are such, some critters should prove quite tricky to wrangle a program into recreating.
The Menagerie Display
Each Saturday, instead of a release, this teller will gather up one of each day’s release in a post for display. Consequently, UNTIL SATURDAY, you can do a piece for any of the released promptlings, not just that day’s. Note that this is merely for the Display. The prompt police aren't real and can't hurt you, so nobody can stop you from excavating a month old prompt from anywhere, shine on you crazy star!
